Our goal at SURAD Interpreting & Translation is to become the "Interpreting Provider of Choice."​ SURAD is working to distinguish our interpreting and translation services.

SURAD Interpreting and Translating provides high-quality, experienced, trained and qualified medical and legal interpreters to HMOs, medical providers, governments, hospitals, insurance carriers and business clients in the Twin Cities area and greater Minnesota. SURAD specializes in providing professional medical interpreters in a large number of African languages. SURAD also provides interpreters with excellent skill in Southeast Asian, Russian, and Eastern European dialects and other languages from around the world.

MISSION STATEMENT

We enhance communication between health care providers and their patients by providing culturally competent, accurate, secure and timely interpreting and translating services.
SURAD was founded to become a partner in improving health care services for our increasingly diverse communities in Minnesota. Since 2005, SURAD has been awarded contracts with UCare, Hennepin County, Hennepin Health, Nura Pain Clinics, Minnespolis Eye Clinics and work with more than 120 medical and dental health care providers. We meet and exceed the high expectations of ‘world class’ medical care in the Twin Cities. We have expanded to provide interpreting services throughout the Twin City metropolitan region and greater Minnesota.

Our intake coordinator will work with you to accommodate each patient’s request for language, cultural competency and gender appropriateness when selecting interpreters. Call 612-872-8059 for assistance. SURAD intake coordinator takes your request, finds and confirms the appointment with the interpreter and faxes the confirmation back to your office. In medical setting, for some contracts, spoken language interpreters can be asked to contact patients ahead of the appointments to ensure non-cancellation.

SURAD will then invoice the medical provider, or can directly invoice certain insurance companies. Currently these insurance companies or government social service offices include: UCare, Medica, MHP, and Hennepin County. SURAD will directly bill medical providers for MA interpreting. The providers will then submit these claims with their own service claims.
